Gordon Wright received his professional dance training at Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. He then joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet company and performed throughout Canada and the United States, and in England, Ireland, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt. After retiring from the stage, he was awarded a grant from the Canada Council to undertake a teacher-training program, and was subsequently appointed a teacher and vice-principal of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. He was later promoted to the position of school administrator. Mr. Wright holds a certificate in administrative management from the University of Winnipeg and has attended numerous training programs in arts management. He is a past director of the National Association of Schools of Dance, and has served as a member of the NASD Commission on Accreditation. Mr. Wright has been director of The Harid Conservatory since January 1992.
